I recently got the chance to visit Laghi’s Deli, a lovely little independent Italian restaurant situated in Edgbaston. The restaurant is owned by Luca, a friendly Italian, and the majority of staff are also Italian. You know what that means? Authenticity!
The place is a combination of a restaurant and a deli, and they also do various food markets, including every other Wednesday at the QE Hospital (which is great for me because it’s right next to where I work!).
I’m sure you all know by now how much I love pizza! I’ve been to Laghi’s twice now, and both times I’ve treated myself to a wonderful pizza.

Both were absolutely stunning. The base and crust were soft and reminiscent of all those I actually had Italy. All the ingredients were super fresh. The parma ham was delightful and the buffalo mozzarella was to die for (no, really, I would actually DIE for it). I cannot recommend these pizzas enough – if you’re a pizza fan, you need to get yourself down here!
I also tried out the fresh burrata with prosciutto and rocket salad. Words cannot truly describe how great this dish was. Try it. That’s a demand.

I haven’t tried the pasta here yet, but I can’t wait to go back and try it all out! Both times I’ve visited, the staff have been super friendly. When I went on a Saturday the owner brought us a great Italian liquor to try and then stayed for a half hour chat! Also, PSA, 10% off for Independent Birmingham card holders Monday-Thursday.
Have you tried out Laghi’s Deli (@laghisdeli) yet? What did you think?
