LA POP (@la_pop_edgbaston) is situated in Edgbaston, and is possibly the most instagrammable venue I’ve been to in Birmingham. All pastel colours and cute decor, this is the place to take all your instagram photos!

The LA POP philosophy is simple: Customisation.

  • Step 1: Choose your homemade gelato flavour
  • Step 2: Cover it in Belgian chocolate of your choice
  • Step 3: Choose your 3 toppings
  • Step 4: Add an extra drizzle of chocolate

LA POP Homemade Gelato

The gelato at LA POP is an absolute dream. It is homemade on the premises, and is made from locally sourced milk. The milk is pasteurised in the kitchen then turned into gelato! There are plenty of flavours to choose from, including 2 vegan flavours (coconut and blood orange sorbet). Some of the flavours are seasonal so there’ll always be new options for you! The gelato itself is definitely the best I’ve had in Birmingham!

LA POP Belgian Chocolate

The chocolate is real Belgian chocolate and, in my opinion, you really can tell. There are 5 options.

  1. Dark chocolate
  2. Milk chocolate
  3. White chocolate
  4. Pink chocolate
  5. Green chocolate

Note that the pink and green chocolates are the same quality white chocolate but with added food colouring.

LA POP Toppings

There are about 10 different toppings to choose from. Options include fruit crunch, honeycomb, lemon crunch, marshmallows, strawberry crunch, Oreo pieces, caramel crunch, smarties, mixed nuts, and a few others (you’ll have to visit to find out!).

Dining with Ali Creations

So, what did I go for? My first gelato pop was raspberry gelato, milk chocolate, strawberry and caramel crunch, fudge, and added pink chocolate drizzle. The raspberry gelato was super fresh, and obviously went perfectly with the milk chocolate. I was also very happy with my combination of toppings.

I then opted for the pineapple gelato covered with green chocolate, fruit crunch, lemon crunch, caramel crunch, and milk chocolate drizzle. I went for the pineapple gelato because it was something a bit different. I’m glad I did because it was a great change from my usual gelato flavours.
