Disclaimer: This article was published in December 2019 after a press release event. However, the event was postponed and then cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Secret Supper is an initiative launched by Parkinson’s UK, and is a lovely combination of a foodie’s dream and a charity event. Birmingham’s second Secret Supper will take place on April 28th 2020.
The first Secret Supper, held in April 2019, was hosted at various restaurants in St Paul’s Square. This event was a sold-out smash, and everyone asked for more! So, Secret Supper 2020 is A GO!

Secret Supper 2020
This year the Secret Supper will be hosted at various different restaurants around Colmore Row. Here is a sneak peak of the restaurants available:
- Chung Ying Central
- Sabai Sabai
- The Alchemist
- Pint Shop
- Gaucho
- Purnell’s Bistro
- The Botanist
- Gino D’Acampo
- Lost and Found
- Ginger’s Bar
The idea of Secret Supper is simple: you buy your ticket in advance, turn up for welcome drinks at The Lost and Found, get given an envelope containing 3 restaurants (from the list above), and you get your multi-dining experience! This means that you’ll be eating your starter, main course and dessert at entirely different restaurants! But, remember, you won’t know which 3 you get until the night!

Parkinson’s UK
The entire event is a fundraising event for Parkinson’s UK, a wonderful charity supporting those affected by Parkinson’s. Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition for which there is currently no cure. It affects 145,000 people in the UK, with an estimated 12,300 people living with Parkinson’s in the West Midlands.
I was lucky enough to attend the Press Launch for this event, and heard all about how Parkinson’s can affect your life from Barrie Smith, a volunteer and ambassador for Parkinson’s UK. He discussed his daily struggles living with Parkinson’s, and how Parkinson’s UK is vital to fund research into new treatments and a potential cure. I found Barrie to be an inspiring speaker, and it was lovely to hear from somebody so willing to talk openly about their struggles and hopes for the future of Parkinson’s.

Secret Supper 2020 will be a night to remember, as well as a great fundraising opportunity. There will also be a raffle and an auction at the event, so more goodies available! Tickets cost £35 per person, which includes a welcome drink at The Lost and Found and a 3-course meal. Click here to buy your ticket!
Thanks to Parkinson’s UK for coming up with this great event. Thanks also to Fraha UK (@fraha.uk), Sonny’s Jewellery (@sonnysjewellery) and The Good Intent (@goodintentbar) for supporting the event and the press launch.
