I love getting takeaways – who doesn’t? I mean, yes, I much prefer going to restaurants but there’s something so nice about chilling at home, getting your food delivered, and putting on a movie. There are plenty of food delivery services, including JustEat, UberEats and Deliveroo. All are great in there own ways but UberEats is definitely my favourite – there are an increasing number of great restaurants on there (at least in the Birmingham area) and they often have great discount codes. So, where are my top places to order from in Birmingham?

NOTE: I live 5km from Birmingham City Centre so these places are not available to all of Birmingham.

1. Bonehead

Bonehead serves up beautiful fried chicken, including chicken burgers, strips and sides. Their tater tots are my absolute favourite. My top chicken burger is the Hothead Burger with added American cheese. This one is a winner. They sometimes run specials with other independents in Birmingham, including Original Patty Men and Poli, so they’re always worth a try.

2. Poli

Poli, in King’s Heath, serves up woodfired pizza, natural wines and beers, and beautiful dips. They have stunning toppings, including my all-time favourite the Bianca pizza with black pepper cream, smoked mozzarella and pecorino. You can’t get a Poli without ordering their dips – the garlic butter and truffle mayo are to die for.

3. Vietnamese Street Kitchen

Vietnamese Street Kitchen serves up authentic Vietnamese food, and is wonderful if you like flavourful noodle dishes. Their Pho is packed full of flavour but their other dishes, including this lemongrass beef curry, are equally as good. My absolute favourite though are their Traditional Spring Rolls, filled with vermicelli noodles and pork. It really takes me back to Vietnam.

4. Otto Woodfired Pizza

Another lovely pizza place, Otto also serves woodfired pizzas, alongside flatbreads and Charcuterie boards. All of their ingredients are super fresh. They have 8 different pizzas to choose from. My absolute favourite is this one with chorizo, nduja, mozzarella, tomato and honey. Honey on a pizza? Gamechanger.

5. Hot Chix

New fried chicken on the block, Hot Chix provides hot Nashville-style fried chicken. Exceptional quality chicken and immaculate flavours. Their chicken tenders and crisscut fries are the perfect addition. Don’t forget to order their dips – hot honey soy and garlic sour cream is the best!

6. Original Patty Men

Original Patty Men (O.P.M) is the top burger joint in Birmingham for a reason. I had my first OPM last year (yes, I know – how could I wait so long!), and I’ve never looked back. I don’t normally like bacon that much but the OPM bacon cheeseburger is exceptional.
